Marina Bay Link Mall Gets A Dash Of Art

Deutsche Bank, in partnership with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and Social Creatives, a social enterprise that nurtures community art through youth development, has sponsored works of art that now hang proudly on the walls of Marina Bay Link Mall. Named the V-Collage, the collage comprises three panels: Way of Life, Orchids and I Love V which together measure 20 metres by 1.5 metres.

The collage was first installed at Marina Barrage for the International Volunteer Day Concert and Carnival on 5 December 2010. About 10 Deutsche Bank staff volunteers as well as Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan were on hand to put the finishing touches to the collage. The collage was next on display at the 21st International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) World Volunteer Conference which took place at Resorts World Sentosa Singapore from 24-27 January 2011 before it was installed at Marina Bay Link Mall.

Celebrity-Spotting at Marina Bay Link Mall

Marina Bay Link Mall (MBLM) recently played host to two famous celebrities, Malaysian singers Fish Leong and Yu Heng.

Din Tai Fung saw a shining display of culinary skills when Fish Leong learnt how to make their famed signature dish - 'xiao long bao' (steamed pork dumplings) under the supervision of master chef Lim Ching Ghee. The 32 year old singer, who was also in town to promote her new album, received rave reviews for her album and culinary skills.

Yu Heng, who came to Singapore recently to promote her latest album, decided to do a little bit of shopping in Marina Bay Link Mall. After the shopping spree, she enjoyed lunch at LeVeL 33, where she enjoyed stunning views of Marina Bay, complemented with a specially prepared menu and beer. Lunch was followed by more shopping at Konplott, a German accessories store and Juup Nails, where she was treated to a manicure. The day culminated with afternoon tea and pastries at Artists in the Residence.
